\"\"<\/a>Alan David Fell was born 17th May 1930 Hackney, London, UK. \u00a0Alan attended the Tottenham Polytechnic, London, U.K. between March 1944 \u2013 March 1947.<\/p>\n

He then did a five-year apprenticeship agreement, from March 1947 \u2013 May 1951, one day and four evenings per week at the Polytechnic.
\nAfter which Alan served two years with the National Service Royal Air Force from May 1951 \u2013 May 1953.<\/p>\n

Alan married Hilda in September 17, 1955, joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in December 29, 1955, and then moved to Canada February 1956. \u00a0He served at RCAF Rockcliffe & Uplands, and was awarded the Canadian Decoration (CD) after 12 years of service.<\/p>\n

In October 12 1965, Alan joined the Canadian War Museum staff, starting as the Assistant to the Curator at the Air Museum at Rockcliffe. \u00a0He moved to Canadian War Museum at Sussex Drive July 1967 working on display design and construction of exhibits, and was an inaugural member of the Organization of the Military Museums of Canada in 1967, until 2001. Alan became the Chief of Technical Operations at the War Museum in January 1980 and served in that capacity until his retirement on December 29 1990.<\/p>\n

Retiring to Comox B.C. 1991, Alan joined the RCAF Association serving on the executive of 888 Wing for four years as entertainment chairman. Hilda and Alan moved to Sault Ste. Marie July 1998, to be closer to family. \u00a0Alan served as president of 432 RCAF (Algoma) Wing for seven years and finished his tenure July 1, 2008.<\/p>\n

Alan was \u00a0awarded the Queen\u2019s Golden Jubilee Medal for in 2002 for services rendered to the community. \u00a0Subsequently, Alan received the ED Walker Memorial Member of the Year 2011, Ontario Group. This award put his name forward to the National selection committee and in October was named the National Member of the year 2011.<\/p>\n

In 2012 he was one of sixty members who The Air Force Association of Canada selected to receive The Queen\u2019s Diamond Jubilee Medal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
