Biography – John C. Hooper

Retired from a career in teaching, John has been involved with the RCAFA for 21 years. He had been the President of 432 Wing from 2008 to 2011. In 2011 John moved to the position of Regional Vice President of Western Region. In July of 2014 he became the 2nd. Vice President of Ontario Group, Royal Canadian Air Force Association and in 2014 he was elected to his current position of Ontario Group President, a position he will give up on July 1st. of 2018

John is very involved in the community as a supervisory member of The Tarbutt Fire Dept. for 15 years, and was member of The Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary for 9 years.

John has just finished his 5th. year working for a local Marina East of Sault Ste. Marie ON. He enjoys boating and boat building and is also involved in aircraft restoration at the National Air Force Museum of Canada, and the restoration of old military trucks.

He has been doing some travelling with his wife Elizabeth when she can get him out of the new garage.
John has been a volunteer since the age of 18 and is a recent recipient of the Sovereigns Medal for Volunteers.
