George William Govett

Bill was born in Kamloops, B.C. October 3, 1929. He joined the RCAF in 1954, piloting, as Captain, various aircraft including the Aurora and Argus. He retired from Military service in 1975.

He then joined the Sault College Aviation program as Flight Instructor. He was the last survivor of the three original Founding Fathers. He had many interests, attending various sporting events the grandchildren were involved in. He was so proud of them. He loved his Honda Pacific Coast motorcycle, camping, hunting, fishing, being involved in the 155 Borden Gray Air Cadets, the Air Force Association, Bush Plane Heritage Museum, etc.

Bill was blessed with a wonderful family, many great friends and a long, healthy life which he lived to the fullest. He will never be forgotten and forever loved.

He was husband to Darlene and the late Elsie (1983). They had 3 children; Julie (deceased), Jeff and Alana.  He was step-father to Dwight and Darwin Code. He was grandfather to 8 and great-grand-father to 1.

Bill was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force Association since 1994.
